Our Team

Locally & privately owned & operated for 30 years, SaraMana has well established our place as a leader in our industry. Our professional staff has been hired & trained to help companies be more profitable. Our staff accomplishes this task effectively by applying our experience utilizing our suite of software, hardware & professional services. We help make our clients more profitable and efficient. We take a comprehensive and consultative approach by using detailed analysis and technology to enhance client productivity. About our President

SaraMana’s President, James L. Dean, acquired the controlling interest of SaraMana in 1982.  At that time the company was 6 years old.  Jim has spent his entire career (Over 30 years) managing sales operations in the Office Equipment Industry.  His dedication and commitment to building a quality sales and service organization has allowed SaraMana to become the oldest and largest independently owned office equipment business serving the West Coast of Florida Market Area.

Jim acquired a strong Midwest heritage growing up in Iowa.  He graduated from Drake University in 1969 with degrees in Marketing & Quantitative Analysis.  Jim’s heritage has instilled a strong commitment to family and giving back as much as you can to the community.  Since 1982 SaraMana has provided financial support to many schools in Sarasota & Manatee counties.  His company has supported organizations such as Miss Sarasota Softball, Babe Ruth Baseball, Boys & Girls Club, LPGA & Senior PGA Tournaments, The Offshore Boat Race, and many others.  Jim has coached teams at the Boys & Girls Club, Miss Sarasota Softball and Booker High School.  Jim has been a member of the Greater Sarasota Sertoma Club since 1983 and is a Past President and was Sertoman of the Year recipient in 1986.  Jim and his family are members of the First Presbyterian Church of Sarasota where he sings in the church choir and serves as an elder.

According to Jim, SaraMana will remain a locally owned business for many years to come.  Our goal is to become one of the largest independently owned office equipment companies on the West Coast of Florida.

About our Vice President

James M. “Mick” Dean has been with SaraMana as it’s Vice President since 1997.  Mick attended Sarasota High School and upon completion was awarded an athletic scholarship to the University of Kentucky.  His academic achievements include a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, a Bachelors of Science in Accounting, and a Masters of Science in Accounting.  Upon graduation from the University of Kentucky, Mick came back to Florida’s Gulf Coast as a Certified Public Accountant for CPA Associates, PA.

While working for CPA Associates in Bradenton as a Certified Public Accountant, Mick learned the importance of serving the clients needs, doing the job correctly the first time, and always standing behind your work and people.  Mick has spent his years at SaraMana working in all areas of operations trying to find ways to make SaraMana more efficient and client supportive.

Currently, Mick is continuing to improve SaraMana’s ability to respond to the needs of their clients by building and maintaining a workflow that maximizes efficiency & productivity.  Realizing that all business is moving towards a paperless office, SaraMana has installed and integrated into their business process the same “Paperless” archive, retrieval & workflow software that they integrate into their client’s offices. According to Mick, “The best way to anticipate the needs of an office going ‘Paperless’ was to go paperless ourselves.
